Information Technology has changed the world in huge ways over the last two decades. We now hold in our hands smartphones with more computing power than it took to put Neil Armstrong on the moon. From data analysis to machine efficiency to political campaigning there are few sectors untouched by the changes of the computer industry.

The energy sector has already benefited from this computer revolution, from increasing the productivity of wells to increasing energy use efficiency.

The economic realities of some developed countries may be slowing development of solutions - but ground breaking innovations are being made all the time. What do we need in order to encourage this process, and get new information technology solutions implemented? And where should we be looking for solutions?
